Of all my designs, this is the one that I’m happiest with. It gives just the effect that it’s meant to give.

The inlay on the gold/silver surrounding the crystal is based on this Milanese fire-gilded ornamental flanged mace from 1550 in the Arms and Armour IV Wallace Collection.
